Tournament Of Books
This yearly event is much anticipated; all Gr.5's have been looking forward to it. I have already mentioned how I have a 'bye', I will explain it. As our class has 24 kids, we cannot create an even bracket. Therefor, some people will be guaranteed to go in to the second round. The person who wins 'Round One' will move up to face the person who has a bye. I, coincidentally, have a bye. That means I have more time to prepare my speech.I quite hope that I will win!
I'm going to explain the pictures below. The rose represents hope because the bloom is never guaranteed. But if it survives, then is will be very beautiful. The cat represents trust because in the book, there is a cat named Cheddar. He's a very tame cat, and relies on his owner, Dell. however, Dell abandons him in a parking lot. When the cat finds the human, Dell realizes he needs to take more responsibility. This isn't necessarily true for just Cheddar. The sunflower represents courage because it is a hardy flower. It is also a major step Willow takes in recovery. Feel free to drop by MCS and look at the Tournament.
